Howard University Opera Theater Workshop presents Seymour Barab's A Game of Chance
Nov 2 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Set in a university art gallery, a Representative, the eternal messenger of fate, brings to each of three college students their dearest wish. One wants wealth, one wants fame, and one wants love. What happens when their wishes are granted? Come to the Art Gallery Lounge and find out. Directed by Dr. Liana Valente, with accompaniment by Dr. Mickey Terry, the opera lasts approximately 40 minutes without an intermission. General seating only. Audience members are encouraged to arrive by 6:45 PM. Stay afterwards to meet the cast!

Friday Morning Music Club Calvary Baptist Concert Series

Soprano Dr. Liana Valente and Trombonist Dr. Paul Schultz will perform a set of modern (but TONAL!) literature for soprano and trombone including the song cycle, Merrie English Love Songs by Sharon Davis and two humorous songs by Betty Roe. Also on the program will be  Susan Hayes (flute) and Albert Hunt (clarinet) performing Jolivet's Sonatine for flute and clarinet along with Branimir Krstic (guitar) performing his original composition, Croatian Songs, Part I; Get Along Home (selections). FREE and open to the public. Join us during your lunch hour!
