Educational Outreach Programs Created and Performed

Careers in the Arts - Sponsored by the Tuesday Music Club of Lakeland

Created and implemented by Dr. Valente, this program was presented to school groups grades 5 through 12 and to the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida. Designed to introduce students to a variety of career paths in the arts, the program featured performances by Dr. Valente and professional colleagues.

From Stage to Classroom - Produced by the Opera Theater of Lakeland

Dr. Valente wrote, rehearsed and served as narrator for this program which featured performances by mainstage artists engaged with the opera company. Two versions of the program were created, one for elementary school students and a second for middle and high school students.

Opera Education Week - Sponsored by the Central Georgia Opera Guild

Dr. Valente was the featured soprano soloist hired for a week of workshops and performances in high schools and churches throughout the Central Georgia area. In addition to these school workshops, she performed operatic arias and ensembles during the annual Opera Gala and at multiple fund-raising functions. She also wrote, directed, and performed in Educational Outreach programs created to allow her college opera theater students to perform for junior and senior high school students.

Singing for your Life - Produced by the Knoxville Opera Company

As an apprentice with the Knoxville Opera Company, Dr. Valente performed for two years in these programs written to introduce students and adults to the joys of opera.
